La Liguria nel Piatto: a nudge towards the ecological transition at the restaurant

On Wednesday 24 May 2023, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Department of Economics, Via Vivaldi 5, Genoa, the event "La Liguria nel Piatto: a nudge towards the ecological transition at the restaurant " will take place.
The first results of the experimentation on the choices of quality restaurant customers in the Province of Genoa and the tools that can encourage them towards behaviours that protect biodiversity and the territory will be presented.
The initiative is promoted jointly with Genoa Chamber of Commerce, the restaurateurs of the Liguria Gourmet circuit who have joined the initiative, and the Liguria Region, which has supported it within the framework of the Biodiv'Alp and CamBioVia Projects.

"I would like to thank the University of Genoa, the Chambers of Commerce System, Liguria Gourmet, the Marco Polo Hotelier Institute, and the farms that worked synergistically for this last stage of the European project Cambio Via," says Alessandro Piana, Vice-President of the Liguria Region with responsibility for Agriculture and Territorial Marketing. "It was an effective way of taking the promotion of the short supply chain to a new level. The restaurateurs played a great part in enhancing and telling the story of the pasture products by promoting their specific characteristics. The excellent results encourage the department to continue supporting small local products. In fact, the presidium of the mountain pastures counteracts depopulation, protects biodiversity, promotes receptivity and is fundamental in maintaining traditions and the excellence of taste. The report on the La Liguria nel Piatto experiment in the activities of the Jean Monnet Chair "Laura" gives us further indications on the next activities to be put in the field, with the same commitment and attention".
