Seminar cycle in which 2 classes of the classical high school Andrea D'Oria and a class of the classical high school Colombo participate. It focuses on the theme of the transformations that human activities and economic exploitation give places (cities, inland areas, coastal areas) in positive and negative. The aim is also to make people understand that sustainability is not a geographically abstract concept and that can only be achieved through a pact between territories: those of the inland areas (biodiversity hotspots) where most environmental services are produced and those in urban areas where the consumption of these services is concentrated.
The activities consist of:
1) An introductory seminar (2h) on issues of environmentally and socially sustainable economic growth; biodiversity and ecosystem services; the formulation of environmental policies and the decision-making process that guides policy makers at all levels. At the end of the seminar students are assigned a project to be carried out.
2) Guided classroom work (6h): students work in groups to discuss and carry out the project assigned to them.
3) Presentation of the work done (2h) in a plenary meeting, students (in groups) present and discuss with the class and teachers their project and the results achieved
