The LAURA project conceives the chair as an opportunity to transform permanently the university teaching of environmental economics in a multidisciplinary perspective and in line with the environmental strategies of the European Union, with particular reference to the European Green Deal. The approach of the European Union will be studied under a specific lens, namely that of environmental/ecosystem assessment that, in itself and through the channel of ecosystem accounting and its relationship with the National Accounts System, is probably the most advanced and comprehensive attempt made globally to represent analytically the interactions between the environment and society. This implies a global vision of the meaning, logic and effects of governance strategies at all levels, including the European Green Deal.
